In 1987, John completed a successful term as President of the REALTOR® Land Institute of Florida, the largest chapter in the U.S. and Canada. John was honored by the NAPLES AREA BOARD OF REALTORS® as both REALTOR® Associate of the Year and REALTOR® of the Year during his real estate career and in 1977 was elected president of that organization.

John keeps pace with ever changing market trends, financing, environmental and political issues that affect value in Naples and Collier County. He is now a full team member with his wife, Patsy, and has concentrated primarily on marketing waterfront and golf course communities along with his expertise in acreage and Golden Gate Estates lots. John served as the vice president of district 5 for the Florida Chapter of the Certified Residential Specialist in 1999 & 2000.  The Florida Chapter is the largest chapter in the United States. This is a group of professional REALTORS® that do about 90% of the real estate business in the National Association of REALTORS®.  In April of 2004 John was honored to be selected the Naples Board of Realtors® Hall of Fame of only 13 recipients.  John also earned the REALTOR e-PRO® Certification which is  Internet Professionals who have completed extensive training using the Web.  December of 2009 John was awarded emeritus status by the National Association of Realtors®.  John is presently serving on the MLS committee and Governmental Issues committee of the Naples Area Board of Realtors and member of the Foxmoor IV board of directors in Foxfire Golf and Country Club.  On March 22, 2010 John was appointed by the Governor of Florida to serve as a board member of the Big Cypress Basin Board
